Project Based Vacancy

Applications are invited for following purely temporary and project based positions under National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) supported scheme “Rural Entrepreneurship and Value Chain Development for Bamboo and Ringal Artisans in Central Himalaya” for Research Associate (Himalayan Research Associate HRA- 01) and “Ecosystem Services and its Mainstreaming in Development Planning Process” for Junior Research Fellow (Himalayan Junior Research Fellow- HJRF -01).
The candidate possessing relevant qualifications and experience in desired subject/specialization with good academic records may appear for Walk-In-Interview on 25 June, 2019 at 11:30 AM at the office premises of Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre (USERC), 33, Vasant Vihar, Phase II, Dehradun- 248006, Uttarakhand. The candidate appearing for interview should also bring with them a duly filled application form depicting details of bio-data along with all relevant documents, certificates/ testimonials. No TA/DA will be given to the candidate appearing for the interview. Further details are available at USERC web-site (www.userc.org). 
The details of qualification and experience for each position is as follows:

1. Himalayan Research Associate (HRA)   No. of post- 01 Max. Age – 35 Years
Age relaxation by five years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically Challenged applicants
M. Sc., Ph.D.  in (Environmental sciences/Biological Sciences and related relevant Discipline
Rs. 36,000/- pm +HRA @ 16% per month for three years 
Experience of working in field and good knowledge of Bio resources. Preference will be given to the candidates having field experience and background in mobilizing communities, Formations of cooperatives, knowledge of value chain
— Inventory through survey — Preparation of Standard Questionnaire — Village survey   & collection of primary/second ary data — Value chain analysis — Identification of areas of value addition of bamboo products — Capacity building of rural artisans
analysis, village and forest survey    


2. Himalayan Junior Research Fellow (H-JRF)
No. of post-  01
Maximum Age-28 years
Age relaxation by five years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically Challenged applicants
Post graduate degree in Environmental Sciences/ Biological Sciences and related  relevant discipline)  with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
Age: up to 28 years
Rs. 25,000/pm +HRA@ 16% per Month for three years for first two years and Rs. 28,000/+HRA @ 16% for third year (for net qualified)  Or Rs. 16,000/- pm +HRA for non-net candidates
Experience of working in field preferably on  Forest Ecology
· Literature survey · Field survey · Interactions with communities and  subject experts · Upgrading existing knowledge and skills on the application of economic valuation of ecosystem services · Module development on ecosystem services
