Walk-in-interview for engaging Senior Research Fellow (02) and Lab Technician (01) for Project entitled “Assessment of spatial and temporal occupancy of tiger and elephant in relation to habitat characteristics and anthropogenic factors for the creation of Eco-Sensitive Areas in Sawantwadi and Dodamarg talukas of Sindhudurg district in Western Ghats of Maharashtra, India” purely on contractual basis for a period of eighteen months.  The EQ, DQ and other details of the required position are as provided below :

1:  Details of position
Senior Research  Fellow (Ecologist) Duration 18 months Emoluments Rs. 35000.00  +   HRA Age Not exceeding 40 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC
Essential Qualification
.      1. M.Sc in Life Sciences/ Wildlife Sciences/ Forestry/ Remote Sensing from a recognized university.  2.     Two years of experience in wildlife survey, knowledge of GIS, data analysis, report writing Desirable Qualification
Two years of experience in occupancy, population estimation, habitat quantification using different approaches Description of Work
Required to visit areas of Maharashtra and Karnataka for data and samples collection and undertake required analysis  Position
2:  Details of position
Senior Research Fellow (Genetics) Duration 18 months Emoluments Rs. 35000.00  + HRA
Age  Not exceeding 40 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC
Essential Qualification
.      1.      M.Sc in Life Sciences/ Wildlife Sciences/ Forestry/ Biotechnology/Animal Genetics/ Environmental
Science/Environment Management from a recognized university.  2.     2. Two years of experience in DNA related techniques in identifying species and other genetic parameters from faecal matter, collection of samples, wildlife survey, knowledge of GIS, data analysis, report writing.
Desirable Qualification

Lab experience of two years in Knowledge in DNA extraction, PCR amplification, electrophoresis and genetic data analysis.

3:  Details of position
Lab Technician Duration 18 months Emoluments Rs. 15000.00  + HRA
Age Not exceeding 40 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC
Essential Qualification
.      1.      M.Sc in Life Sciences/ Wildlife Sciences/ Forestry/ Biotechnology/Animal Genetics/Environmental Science from a recognized university. Desirable Qualification

 The candidate should report by 1000 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 1st May, 2019 followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not provide accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview.  Candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications along with certificates of extracurricular activities; date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations etc. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of registration for necessary verification.  No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.  The application form can be downloaded from the Institute’s website
