B.Sc. Medical Microbiology
Eligibility: 10 + 2 with PCB/PCM with at least 45% marks in aggregate.
Program contents: Human Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Parasitology, Systematic Bacteriology, Medical Mycology, Medical Virology, Medical Microbiology, Clinical Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology.

Program outcomes for B.Sc. Medical Microbiology: Providing comprehensive knowledge of structure, function and pathological changes of the organs and the basis for understanding the clinical correlation of diseases and the pathological basis for the disease presentation. To study the Clinical Biochemistry and role of medical microbiologist, ethics, responsibility, safely measure and hazards in clinical biochemistry lab and first aid in laboratory accidents. To understand fundamentals of biochemistry including carbohydrates, lipids, proteins nucleotides, enzymes To gain knowledge of Epidemiology, surveillance and control of community and hospital infections. To Understand the basic microbial structure and function and study the comparative characteristics of prokaryotes and eukaryotes . Know various Culture media and their applications.Understand microbial techniques for isolation of pure cultures of bacteria,and fungi .and also understand various physical and chemical means of sterilization. Introduction to principle and application of fundamental laboratory equipments related to microbiological techniques . To learn the basic principles of medical microbiology and infectious disease. It covers mechanisms of infectious disease transmission, principles of aseptic practice, and the role of the human body’s normal microflora. Opportunities to develop diagnostic skills, including the use and interpretation of laboratory tests in the diagnosis of infectious diseases. To acquire knowledge of Immune reactions and laboratory tests for detection of antigen and antibodies and its clinical significance. To analyse the biological data by using bioinformatic tools .
