Programe contents: The degree programme curriculum is according to recent 5th Deans’ committee of ICAR.
The curriculum includes subjects/papers in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Agricultural Economics, Extension Education, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Soil Science, Food technology, Animal Husbandry as well as supporting courses from Basic Sciences, Humanities and Agricultural Engineering. This degree program is infused with practical emphasis on ‘Hands on’ training and ‘learning by doing’.
Well organised agriculture farm with setup of different agricultural practices such as horticulture, agronomy, mushroom cultivation etc. provides field exposure to the students. Polyhouse, agricultural field and orchards of mango etc. outside campus premises accompanying with advanced laboratories and hi-tech classrooms are strength of the department.
