WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

Walk-In Interview will be held to engage a short-term Consultant for the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan programme activities under IIM Kashipur on 4th October 2019 (Friday) at 10 AM. A panel will be prepared based on merit and performance at the interview. The said panels will be valid for a year and whenever there is a vacancy the appointment offer will be sent to the highest ranked candidate in the panel.

Job Description:
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship program of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India with the purpose of linking higher educational institutes with rural development process. Formally launched in November 2014, the scheme enlists the participation of around 2130 higher education institutions with an outreach to 11350 villages across India. It is envisaged that IIM Kashipur will participate in the process of village development planning and implementation by closely coordinating with the district administration, elected representative of villages/ panchayats and other stakeholders. Further, IIM Kashipur faculty and students are expected to:
a) Carry out detailed field study of the living conditions of the adopted villages b) Assess local problems and needs c) Workout the possibilities of leveraging technological interventions d) Study the opportunities for improvement of processes in implementation of various government schemes e) Prepare workable action plans for the selected villages.
To initiate the process of IIM Kashipur’s participation in Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, a short-term Consultant is required to help in identification of five villages, possible interventions and activities after taking into consideration the inputs of different entities and stakeholders.
2. Specific Tasks :
The key tasks of the Consultant will include:
a) Consultations with IIM Director, Dean and other concerned faculty to finalize the broad framework that guides selection of the villages, duration, resource commitments for UBA cell/ interventions/ activities, envisaged level of faculty and student engagement, possible alignment with other teaching/ research objectives of the institute
b) Liaison with the district administration, including chief development officer, the block development officers and departmental heads of education, health, agriculture among others to understand needs and requirements, gauge availability of government funds for different kinds of interventions, identify specific areas to study/ evaluate that may help in process improvement and implementation of government programs
c) Engage with local non-profits and other institutions that are involved in community development in and around Kashipur for access to community, partnership in data collection and other research/extension activities.
d) Reach out to subject expert groups (as specified in UBA guidelines) for inputs
e) Connect with individuals who can potentially act as local resource persons
f) Connect with local industry to assess their CSR goals, and willingness to engage
g) Design, and coordinate the baseline survey of infrastructure, amenities and scheme implementation of five selected villages.
h) Design and coordinate the baseline household survey.
i) Supervise the entry of data in the UBA-ERP database
Remuneration: A consolidated fixed consultancy fee per month will be paid along with travel allowance to undertake the field work. The remuneration will not be constraint for the qualified candidates.
Duration: Appointments will be made purely on contract basis for a period of three months initially and it may be renewed thereafter, subject to satisfactory performance.
