The 'Sun Temple of Paleti' is located in the village of Paleti in Vangarh area, five km away from the Hindolakhal development block headquarters of Tehri district. This temple is considered to be the oldest among all the other temples of Uttarakhand. The writings of Raja Kalyan Burman and Adi Burman are still present on the rock board of the temple. Which are written in Uttara Gupta (Brahmi) script. This script is sixth-seventh. century was prevalent. On the basis of this, the time of construction of Paleti Sun Temple has been considered between 675 to 700 AD. This temple is built in the Phansana style. Above the entrance of the temple sits a majestic stone statue of Suryadev riding on a chariot of seven horses. The total height of this temple is 7.50 meters. The temple has two idols of Sun God, 1.2 meters high, made of stone.
