Recruitment of 29 Technical Associates, 7 Project Associates-I (PA-I), 1 Project Associates-II (PA-II) and 1 Project Associates-III (PA-III) on contractual basis in Forest Survey of India

Forest Survey of India (FSI) is a premier national organization under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (Government of India) and is responsible for forest resource assessment of the country on a regular basis.

Applications are invited for engagement of 29 Technical Associates, 7 Project Associates-I (PA-I), 1 Project Associates-II (PA-II) and 1 Project Associates-III (PA-III) on contractual basis for DIP/GIS/MIS related works under various projects/plan schemes at headquarters of FSI Dehradun and its Regional Offices initially for a period of one year subject to further extension, if required. The details such as essential qualification, age limit, emoluments, place of work and selection criterion are given below. Note: No. of posts may vary as per the requirement of the organization.

Selection Process:

Candidates who fulfil the essential qualification and essential experience should first pre-register themselves using on-line form available on FSI’s website www.fsi.nic.in w.e.f 23rd January, 2020. After screening of the on-line registration forms, the eligible candidates will be called for walk-in test at FSI, Dehradun on a date, which will be informed, to them through email and SMS and the list will also be uploaded on the website.

Short-listing will be done on the basis of fulfilling of prescribed qualifications, experience and age limit criteria. The selection of the candidates for the post of TA will be done based on the walk–in test which will comprise three parts Written (multiple – choice/Short answer type) and/or Hands-on test on the use of Remote Sensing and GIS software(only for candidates applying of RS/GIS at the headquarters) (only those candidates who qualify written test will be asked to appear in Hands-on test) and/or Interview. For the post of PA-I, PA-II and PA-III, the walk–in test will comprise of only interview/presentation/Group Discussion.

The candidates may have to make suitable arrangement for stay on their own as the walk-in test may take more than one day. Candidates called for walk-in test are required to bring their mark sheets and experience certificates in original. They should also submit a filled up form on prescribed format (pdf can be downloaded from the website) while appearing for the walk-in test. The final selection would be based on combined performance in the written test and/ or Hands-on test and/or interview. In case of any dispute in the process, the decision of the Director General, FSI will be final. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing for the walk-in test. The selection and appointment of above-mentioned posts are purely on contractual basis and does not imply any form of permanent employment in Forest Survey of India or extension beyond the period of engagement.

Experience in High Resolution data processing/ object oriented classification/ SAR/Microwave data processing

Age limit : 40 years as on the last date of submission of application form. The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in case of candidates belong to SC/ST/OBC/PH. For retired officials of SFDs/Scientists/other officials, the age limit may go upto 65 years.
