Walk-in-Interview for Contractual Engagement of ArcGIS-Python Developer and Project Coordinator under the project at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun
Name of the Post : Python Developer and Project Coordinator
The Wildlife Institute of India is an internationally acclaimed Institution, which offers training program for government and non-government personnel, academic courses and advisory in wildlife research and management. The Institute is actively engaged in research across the breadth of the country on biodiversity related issues.
The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun invites application through interview for engaging the ArcGIS-Python Programmer for the project titled “Assessment of impacts of the proposed Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway, Maharashtra, Samriddhi Corridor on wildlife values and measures recommended to mitigate negative impacts” and Project coordinator for the project titled “Long term monitoring in the State of Maharashtra”. The period of engagement will be for a period of one year which may be extended based on the candidate’s performance and project needs. The EQ, DQ and other details are as provided below:

Name and Number of the Position : ArcGISPython Developer
Number of Positions: One
Essential Qualification (EQ): Essential Qualification: B.Tech/ M.Sc/M.Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science/Programming/Geoinformatics or relevant field with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University. Candidate should have a minimum of one-year demonstrated experience of working with Python, ArcPy, ArcGIS and Git
Desired Qualifications: Candidate(s) with prior experience with GitHub, raster datasets, ArcGIS Model Builder, ArcGIS API for Python and GIS software in general will be given preference. The candidate should be capable of working independently with limited technical guidance
Work profile : The selected candidate will be needed to design tools and packages for ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro. The
candidate need to work with the diverse team in developing or upgrading various software packages relevant for wildlife use. Working knowledge of Julia will be an added advantage.
Project : Long term monitoring in the State of Maharashtra

Number of Positions: One
Essential Qualification (EQ): B. Tech/B.Sc./ or equivalent degree in Science/Technology or relevant field from a recognized University
Desired Qualifications: Candidate should have experience in office and project management.
Work profile : The candidate needs to manage day to day working of the project and coordinate with the funding agencies, researchers, field staff and various agencies for successful implementation of the project. The candidate is also needed to take frequent field visits with researchers.
Mode of Selection and other conditions:
(1) The selection of the candidates will be in accordance with the performance in the interview and in order of merit as decided by the Interview Committee. All original documents should be produced at the time of interview. The decision of the Institute’s
Committee in all matters relating to eligibility, work experience, acceptance or rejection of application will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained from any individual.
(2) The candidates are required to submit their CV/biodata along with copies of educational qualifications, experience and statement of purpose to the Registrar, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun upto 1700 hrs on or before 31.07.2020 by email registrar@wii.gov.in. The applications received late will not be considered by the Institute. The applicant should mention name of the post applied and project name in the subject.
(3) The screened-in/shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interview. The interview will be held on 10th August, 2020 from 1100 hrs onwards. The short listed candidates will be informed by email for attending the interview on 10th August, 2020.
The selection will be made on the basis of interview scheduled on 10th August, 2020.
(3) At the time of verification of original documents, if it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to willfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, his/her candidature will not be considered.
(4) The positions advertised are purely temporary/contractual for the project period only and will stand abolished after completion of the project.
(5) The tenure in the project will be governed by the Institute’s rules and regulations
(6) Relaxation in Age will be given as per Govt. of India norms
(7) After announcement of the results, the candidate should join the project immediately.
