The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun invites application for walk-in-interview for engaging Project Personnel for an IUCN-KFW Phase II funded collaborative project between Wildlife Institute of India and Zoological Society of London entitled Supporting trans-boundary recovery in India and Nepal. This proposed project aims to contribute towards a viable tiger meta-population in the Terai Arc Landscape (TAL)

1. Post Name : Project Scientist I/ Project Scientist II  (Community Livelihood/Human Wildlife Conflict)

2. Essential Qualification (EQ) : Doctoral degree in Social Sciences/Rural Development / Environmental Science / Wildlife Sciences/ Forest Management/ Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent. (Project Scientist I) OR Doctoral degree in Social Sciences/Rural Development / Environmental Science / Wildlife Sciences/ Forest Management/ Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent. AND Three years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services. (Project Scientist II)

3. Duration : One Year

4. Location of project area : The post will be based in Dehradun, India and field sites in Nandhaur Landscape, Uttarakhand

5. Emoluments :

a) Project Scientist I 56,000/- + HRA Increment of 5% for every 2 years of experience subject to performance review.

b) Project Scientist II 67,000/- + HRA Increment of 5% for every 2 years of experience subject to performance review.

Essential Qualification (EQ) : MSW OR Masters degree in Social Sciences/Rural Development / Environmental Science / Wildlife Sciences / Forest Management/Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent.( Project Associate-I) OR MSW OR Masters degree in Social Sciences/Rural Development / Environmental Science / Wildlife Sciences / Forest Management/Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent. AND 2 years experience in Research and development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and Services. (Project Associate- II)

3. Duration : One Year

4. Location of project area : The post will be based in Dehradun, India and field sites in Nandhaur Landscape, Uttarakhan

5. Emoluments :

 

a) Project Associate-I (01) : (i) 31,000/- +HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. (ii) 25,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

b) Project Associate- II (01) (i) 35,000/- +HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. (ii) 28,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

1. Post Name : Project Associate I  / Project Associate II (Camera trapping and Patrol based monitoring)

2. Essential Qualification (EQ) : Masters degree in Wildlife Sciences / Environmental Science / / Forest Management / Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent.( Project Associate-I) OR Masters degree in Wildlife Sciences / Environmental Science / Wildlife Sciences / Forest Management/Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent. AND 2 years experience in Research and development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and Services. (Project Associate- II)

3. Duration : One Year

4. Location of project area : The post will be based in Dehradun, India and field sites in Nandhaur Landscape, Uttarakhand

WII Project Scientist I/ Project Scientist II , Project Associate I / Project Associate II Vacancy 2022

Not Exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per the rules.

 

General instruction:

1. The selection of the candidates will be in accordance with the performance in the interview and in order of merit as decided by the Interview Committee. All original documents should be produced at the time of interview. The decision of the Institutes Committee in all matters relating to eligibility, work experience, acceptance or rejection of application will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained from any individual.

2. The candidates are required to submit their completed application forms in PDF format, with accompanying attachments by email (with subject line: Application for the post of in WII-UKFD-ZSL Project Supporting trans-boundary recovery in India and Nepal) to registrarpr@wii.gov.in not later than 1700 hrs on 31st March 2022 . A hard copy of the application along with attachments (with subject line: Application for the post of (post name) in "Supporting trans-boundary recovery in India and Nepal project should be sent to The Registrar, Wildlife Institute of India, Chandrabani, Dehradun 248001, Uttarakhand by post not later than 1700 hrs on 31st March 2022.

3. Application forms needs to be typed according to the prescribed format and must be accompanied by self-attested: (a) Scanned copies of educational qualifications, and (b) Scanned copies of experience letter/ certificate, failing which applications will not be considered.

4. If a candidate is applying for more than one post, separate applications have to be submitted for every post applied for

5. The applications received after the deadline will be rejected by the Institute.

6. Mere fulfilment of the minimum advertised qualifications and experience requirement DOES NOT automatically entitle an applicant to be called for interview.

7. The shortlisting of candidates will be based on a combination of Essential and Desirable Qualifications mentioned in the advertisement. The shortlisted candidates will be notified (through email and website notification) for online/personal interview.

8. At the time of verification of original documents, if it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to wilfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, his/her candidature will not be considered.

9. The positions advertised are purely temporary/ contractual for the project period only and will stand abolished after completion of the project.

10. The tenure in the project will be governed by the Institutes rules and regulations
