Applications are invited only from Indian citizens for the following purely project/contract based temporary positions under a NMHS funded project entitled "Himalaya Calling: Bridging science, policy and practice to foster sustainable development in the Indian Himalayan region (IHR)" at Kosi-Katarmal (Almora) campus / Regional Centres of the Institute. Position - Project Coordinator & Database Manager (@ Rs. 40,000/- PM + HRA @8%) (01 Position)
Age Limit - 50 Yrs.
Essential Qualification - 1. M.Sc. Ph.D. / M. Tech. Ph.D. / M.Sc. with M.B.A. (Life sciences/Environment Sciences) from a recognized University
2. Experience of handling multi disciplinary & multi institutional R&D projects / consultancy assignments relating to Himalayan environment & development (Minimum 3 years)
3. Good communication/writing skills Experience of organizing Workshops/Meetings/ Institutional networking/Database & information management & dissemination (evidenced through quality publications / Technical reports / Proceedings)
Desirable:
(i) Understanding of socio-economic and environmental issues of Himalayan region;
(ii) Environmental leadership; and Policy analysis
(iii) Good communication/writing skills evidenced through quality publications / Technical reports
(iv) Expertise on developing communication materials
Responsibility - 1.Organize/Facilitate state/regional workshops & strategic meetings.
2.Laision with R&D organizations/ Universities/state government/ NGOs. etc.
3.Use of R&D data into policy/ programme uptake (sciencepolicy-practice)
4.Organize/Facilitate training & capacity building programs.
5. Assisting the decision makers, planners and scientists as and when required.
6. Demonstration of the facility as and when required.
7. Project Report writing and matters related to A/C.

Position - Web Portal Developer (@ Rs. 35,000/- PM + HRA @8%) (01 Position)
Age Limit - 40 Yrs.
Essential Qualification - M.Tech/B.Tech/MCA degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology with one year work experience in case of M.Tech or three years experience for B. Tech./MCA in field such as: Web Development in reputed Institute / Organization and One year experience of web server handling
Desirable - In depth knowledge of HTML/CSS, at least one of the programming language: PHP, NET, Javascript; Adequate knowledge of relational database, sound knowledge of programming language like C, C++ Java and web application development; Knowledge of handling Linux / Database handling
Responsibility - 1. Integration of baseline data over suitable database platform
2. Web Portal development of the project
3. System Management
